I kind of get that I might be unclear on exact definitions of "haven't had sex in years" and so on, but... surely if I wasn't pregnant today and then had a D&C, I can't possibly be pregnant on Wednesday.

It's just the reminder that it's more important to remind female-bodied people at every turn that they are potential incubators, than it is to put the health/well-being of the patient above any hypothetical children.
