Wake me up when the move is over?
Jun. 13th, 2009 03:53 amI made my very last yarn-store purchase until at least the end of the summer. Our LYS is now carrying Hiya Hiya needles, which come in circulars down to 9" lengths. This is exactly right for making a sock, which I am doing now, and planning a pair of gloves. Mmm, gloves. (I'll two-circ the fingers, however. I wonder if anyone has ever figured out a way to just cut the approximate lengths of yarn needed and do all the fingers at once?)
So, I overslept tonight, hard (alarm didn't go off), and didn't get woken up until 12:07. My darling co-workers apparently were worried, but not enough to call me, so I got to work about 10 minutes later than I would have if they'd followed my instructions (which are: if I'm not there by 5 minutes till, call me, because something is wrong).
The day is so much better with that extra hour and a half of sleep, though. I feel guilty, and I'll miss the money, but.. well, whatever.
Packing proceeds apace; I should have all the non-essentials in the house in boxes by moving day, which will be moved to the new house as quickly as we can clean space for them to go. (A whole lot of stuff is going to be going in the master bedroom, for starters.) The essential items (dishes, furniture) will be moved AFTER the house is ready to be lived in, which might take a day or two. To complicate matters, we get possession on Monday the 22nd-- Mondays are wretched for me, as I only have a couple of hours before bedtime, then Tuesday I have volunteer work at church, and it won't be until Wednesday that I can put in even 4 uninterrupted hours.
Once we have the house clean and ready to be lived in, we move the essential stuff, and then the cats, and then clean the apartment and then we're... sorta done. Except that we'll need to move furniture now and again to get the floors finished, and so on. (We don't have time or finances to do all that before move in, I don't think, unless we can work our tails off on that Wed-Thu and I can get Friday off, and if Raven is ok with the tile I picked out, and so on.)
