Transgender Day of Remembrance
Nov. 20th, 2011 09:02 amI'm grateful to have a family who loves me (even if they don't always understand). I'm grateful to have places I can be myself, to a greater or lesser extent. I'm grateful to have a home where I feel safe, a job where I'm not in fear, and friends who accept me.
I'm sorry that not everyone in the world has a life this awesome, and I'm willing to do what it takes to get them there.
I'm even more sorry that for some of us... there's nothing more anyone can do, but remember them. And maybe, just maybe, keep trying, and someday, this kind of violence won't happen anymore.
This year's list of people who were killed because they were transgendered.
