So, I bought the yarn for the sweater body.

They didn't have the particular creamy-tan kind of color I wanted, and only had very light off-white and white, so I bought white and I'm going to dye the yarn. I bought 2 skeins of Cascade 220, which is 440 yards, and should be enough with the rest of the yarn I have to do the sweater body.

Tomorrow's store jaunt will include a box of cheap tea and possibly six or seven packets of Kool-Aid, and some vinegar to set the dye. Tea dying creates anything from a deep tan to beige, and I'm thinking I may add a wee bit of grape to it-- the purple should grey out the tan a little.

I already have a HUGE stockpot, so the only thing I'll have left to do is wind the yarn loosely into hanks so the dye will soak through.
