In strange news, Ravenlet sat down and voluntarily read a book today (even though there was much frustration and complaining that the book was really long, which it was). Guess she might be mine after all.
Kiddo wants a "real Barbie dollhouse" that's big enough for her Barbies to play in. And a new Barbie doll.
I've peeked around, and dollhouses are...hella expensive for the amount of care that goes into their construction, and the amount of stuff that comes with them.
The very nicest dollhouses are the ones that are actually built like bookcases or entertainment centers, except with inner "decor" and stuff.
I don't want to get her a cheap crappy dollhouse. I want her to have something nice.
Rather than $150 or so, bookcases are $20-30 for a small-sized one.
Dollhouse furniture isn't terribly expensive (compared to the house). Contact paper is cheap. Cardboard partitions and hot glue are free. Artistic talent is priceless, but on tap.
I have...three weeks! Let's see what I can put together.
