So I went to the eye doctor, and spent a pleasant half-hour NOT getting my eyes dilated, and survived the Nasty Puffs in the Eye, and picked out frames.
Pics later. They're plastic frames, because my lenses are too thick for wire ones. And the lenses are the thickest ones they carry, so next time if my eyes get any worse I have to wait TWO WHOLE DAYS while they special order them.
While I was waiting on the glasses, I went to Petsmart and got feather on string for the kitties, and went to the shoe store and saw...
THE CUTEST Mary Janes with criss-cross straps. And I took them up to the counter and did my best puppy dog eyes and said "do these come in elevenses*?"
And lo, THEY DO. So in a couple of weeks I will have brand new shoes for the summer. They offered me a deal on two pair, second pair half off, but since my color choices were black and black, I only got one pair.
Then I went and my glasses weren't ready but I didn't want to shop anymore, so I went and sat down on the grass on the corner for a few minutes. It was rather windy and I almost pulled a Marilyn and flashed my Britney (I'm not linking that, if you don't know, figure it out) at everyone. But fortunately, I didn't.
New shoes! And new glasses! And now I'm hot and sweaty and tired and my face is all flushed, so I'm gonna eat something and go to bed, I think.
*for my across the pond readers, I think this is a size 10 in the UK. It's one size up from the biggest size normally carried in women's shoes.
