I'm going to the bookstore tomorrow to meet up with a friend or two. While I'm there, I will be looking for two things.
1) possible suitable birthday presents for Ravenlet
2) Study materials for upcoming lessons (hooray, BN homeschoolers' discount)
The next upcoming big unit we're going to do is on biology, specifically, the human body. I already have the human anatomy coloring book in mind (it's awesome, and detailed enough for high school students, but we don't have to cover the things that are too tough for her).
The strong point of homeschooling here is going to be that we can cover things in a much more hands-on way than a classroom full of kids. I'm already planning a "where are your tastebuds for sweet and salty" demonstration with some salt and sugar.
I'm considering making another LJ just to keep up with the homeschooling stuff notes. I have a fair amount of writing to do, to come up with material that's suitable to both her reading level and her understanding level (which is higher than her reading level).
