I hate when:

"Oh, you want me to come in early, to cover for you because you have some kind of social thing to do? Well, tough shit, I can't, I'm on a date that I miraculously happened to arrange DURING A TIME I WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE AT WORK! Beeyotch."

becomes:

"Sorry, can't, have company from out of town."

...it'd be nice to be out* at work, sometimes.

I've heard several guys complain "I send lengthy notes to several women and never get responses" and have always wondered what they were sending. Well, today I got my answer!

In full, below the cut, is an OKCupid mail I received. )
So, I was thinking. Obviously since many people don't actually write back, it may be necessary to send out several emails in order to get one in return. Wouldn't it be possible to write a LESS obviously form-email first contact note to people? It makes me want to try this myself.
