If your idea of "friend" includes people you just met, our definitions of the word have nothing in common.

If your idea of "friend" doesn't mean "someone I'll stick up for, even if I don't always agree with them, because I think they deserve fair treatment," we have nothing in common.

If your idea of "friend" doesn't mean "someone whose welfare I think of as important, even if it's less important than my own" then we're gonna have to disagree.

I found out today that I have a lot fewer friends than I thought.
