For all the times I bitch and whine and moan and complain about my job...
I just got a nice surprise in my email.
My boss gave me a Christmas bonus equal to half my usual weekly paycheck.
SQUEE! I don't have to scrimp for wrapping paper!
So far on the list, I'm getting a couple of new circular needles, a huge bread-baking book that I wanted, some more books for the kid (and maybe a bookshelf!)...maybe one or two more presents. Something fun for the kid to do. A printer cartridge, too!
I will not go overboard on toy-presents. She won't lack, she's getting clothes and stuff that she needs, but we are NOT getting her a dozen toys to take up space and make her unhappier keeping them picked up.
Children do not deserve every single toy that there is. They deserve things to occupy their minds, and a lack of impediments to happiness. They deserve to be fed, clothed, and loved.
