I call "not it"
Mar. 2nd, 2008 07:52 pmTHE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORMAN HAS ISSUED A
* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA COUNTY IN CENTRAL OKLAHOMA...
* UNTIL 815 PM CST
Downtown OKC is the PROJECTED area. This is NOT NEAR ME. There is NO TORNADO right now, but the conditions are right to produce one any second.
ETA 8:01PM: Midwest City is next up. OKC didn't get anything. Thank God, the downtown area in question includes the St Anthony's, OU, Children's, and VA hospitals.
ETA 8:15PM: The weatherman got busted saying "where the tornado is" and had to correct himself that THERE IS NONE. Thank you. Just rain and crap. Warning expired, nothing to it.
However, I'm gonna get dressed in case I need to head to work.
For those of you who don't live in tornado country, this is not like a blizzard (it's definitely gonna snow, you will get snow) or flash flood warning (definitely gonna rain). Tornado warnings are the big sibling of tornado watches, they STILL don't mean that there is a tornado on the ground. WHat they do mean is that there is circulation in the clouds that could drop down at any moment. Or, on the other hand, it may not.
