Life is good.
Jul. 9th, 2009 06:41 amThe washer is now working and NOT leaking profusely at the intake.
The first load of laundry is already out on the line drying. The second load is in the wash.
With use of my solar-powered linear dryer, I expect I can get through the backlog of laundry as fast as I can get it through the washer. ETA: I'm going to need more clothesline for this. Adding it to list.
Also, I now have two dressers to put clean things in, so there's no reason to leave things dirty (because if you have nowhere to put clean clothes, why bother washing them until you're about to wear them?)
Beef and carrots are in the crock pot cooking, and potatoes are in the cabinet ready to be peeled and cooked and mashed with milk and butter. (Apparently some people refer to what I'm making tonight as "whipped" potatoes, but I've always called them mashed, even though it's done with an electric mixer.)
I want to go poke around and see if there are any herb seeds still available at the store; I'd like to have a winter kitchen garden.
I also really want (close to need) a table to go in front of the kitchen window. It needs to be sturdy enough to hold a half-dozen appliances, and preferably washable so it can be used for food prep. It can't be more than 2 1/2 feet wide, or within a couple of inches of that.
The bulb above me needs to be swapped with a CFL today.
It's already 76 outside and I just heard the a/c kick on (it's set at 75). Projected high of 102 with a heat index of 110.
The dishwasher, by the way, is LOVELY and quiet. The washing machine, on the other hand, is definitely NOT quiet. Oh well.
Today's plan:
Go look for table or shelves to fit in front of the kitchen window
Also, under-cabinet lighting!
Scope out some new sewing thread at Hobby Lobby
Check out the new location for the Gourmet Yarn Company (looks like they have the old location pics up on their website; must take camera and see if they want new pics) and see if I feel like buying a ball winder.
