HAITI: Orphans update.
Jan. 22nd, 2010 07:40 amThe kids made it safe to Oklahoma-- got the rest of the story, too.
All the kids were orphans *before* the earthquake and were in the process of being adopted. Since the earthquake left them homeless and killed many of the people responsible for caring for them and getting the adoptions put through, everything was expedited so they could be brought to their new homes here.
Because of the terrible tragedy of the earthquake, these children are with their parents much, much earlier than could otherwise have been expected.
(I didn't make it by church yesterday but I will this morning; I'll let you guys know more when I find out.)
