Weekly grocery shopping isn't working for me, because I invariably get home to be told that there's something else I should've bought. So, I'm moving to a 3 times a week schedule, which means I should shoot for $25 per shopping session to feed all 3 of us for 2-3 days.

$3.88 One gallon 2% milk-- for cereal and oatmeal in the mornings. Not the store brand, but one step up from it.

$2.22 for Swiss Cheese, 12 slices, store brand

$5.00 for 22 ounces of chicken breast. Boneless skinless was on sale, so that's what I got. Otherwise I'd get the bone-in and make stock out of the leftovers.

$2.28 for a 12 ounce jar of peanuts, and
$2.98 for the same, beef jerky. Requested snack items. (Both store brand.)

$1.90 for 5x strawberry yogurt. (Store brand.)

$2.08 for large Danish pastry thing, cut into pieces and frozen
$1.01 for small loaf of artisan bread, which will make 3-4 sandwiches. Both from the bakery.

$1.35 for 6 Roma tomatoes (1.48 a pound)
$0.96 for 4 plums (0.98 a pound)

Total: $25.66 (yes, we have 8.375% sales tax on all food here)

Menu plans:
Cut danish into 8. Freeze 6 pieces. Eat 2 for breakfast (yes, I'm bad)

Cook chicken breasts and chill for sandwiches. 1/2 chicken breast sliced thin + 1 piece swiss + 1 tomato + 1/3 loaf of artisan bread = YUMMY.

Other plans include mostly using the veggies already in the fridge and making a small amount of rice; I may go back to the store later for lettuce or anything else if we need it.
