This probably says more about me and what goes through my head than anything about you folks. Feel free to answer or not, if you please.

The Hole In The World
Imagine that there is a world much like this world, an alternate Earth. Scientists discover the alternate Earth and also discover that unless a particular adjustment is made, everyone in this Earth is going to die a horrible death. The adjustment is that they have to send someone from this Earth into the other Earth, NEVER to return.

Now, the other world has people just like us (humans in other words) and in almost all respects it looks exactly like this world, just a few minor differences. One of the differences, obviously, is that there is a missing person in the other Earth-- someone that has to exist in order for their world not to just suck all the life out of ours. That missing person is, almost exactly, YOU.

Now, the scientists explain to you, that you have to be sent over alone, no one else with you, you can never come back here, and one of two things has to happen for you to "match" the person-shaped hole in this world. With the aid of advanced technology, they can do either of these things to you quickly and painlessly:

A. Your sexual orientation has to change: if you're gay or straight, you have to become the other. If you're bi, you have to become gay or straight.
B. Or you'd become asexual-- someone who didn't have any desire for sex with any other person. Ever.

(In both cases, you'd keep complete memories of your time before the change, you just wouldn't feel the same way about doing those things again.)

Which would you choose? And which would leave you feeling most "like yourself"?

The Malicious Genie
Think of your two most favorite things in the whole world. Now imagine a malicious genie has appeared in front of you, and he tells you that you MUST pick one of the following: (assuming for the example that your two favorite things are listening to Mozart and eating chocolate):

A. He will make listening to Mozart 50% LESS fun, and eating chocolate 25% MORE fun.
B. He will make eating chocolate 50% LESS fun, and listening to Mozart 25% MORE fun.

Under the rules, you can still do whatever thing you enjoyed as much as ever, you just won't like doing it as much.

What two things would you pick and in what order?
