Also, this will be my final crossposted entry. I won't be posting at LJ anymore, just here on DW. For those who only use LJ, you can go to corrvindw.livejournal.com and add that to your friends list; it pulls from my DW account when I post. For those already doing that AND reading my LJ, this is the last entry you'll see two of.
I won't be renewing my LJ paid account in February, so I have a month or so to save all my pictures elsewhere and move icons where I want them to go.
So I'm at work enjoying some fine gourmet cuisine (shell noodles, pasta sauce from a jar, some browned ground turkey (cheaper than ground beef and just as yummy), and the last leftover green beans from Christmas).
I've been looking for a sort of daily tracker thing for a lot of different stuff I want to try to build up as habits. So far, I have the following:
I've been thinking about using a spreadsheet with dates and a column for each item, or using the Google calendar reminders, setting up a spare calendar, and having it email me reminders every day, then having Gmail star the reminders, and unstar them when I complete them. This seems way too hard to track, though.

I've been looking for a sort of daily tracker thing for a lot of different stuff I want to try to build up as habits. So far, I have the following:
- Exercise every day.
I'll be back on presidentschallenge.org keeping track of this starting 1/1 again. I'm Corrvin there if anyone has a group and wants me in it.
- Get control of my grocery-store spending.
I'd like to set a daily limit, because obviously the once a week shopping trip doesn't work out for us, and since the store is on the road I use to go to and from work, there's no reason not to go there every day. I'm probably going to start with a daily limit of $20 for feeding the three of us plus cats and cleaning supplies. I think given that for a start, I can spend a little bit less every day and put the remainder in savings.
- Put money into savings
My bank has an auto-transfer feature where I can do small transfers every business day if I feel like it.
- Make plans for spending money that lead to long-term improvements
- Organize my room and craft area so that I can sit down and work on things (this will involve buying a comfy chair at some point)
- Blog more about stuff I make-- when I have time to make stuff.
- Try to stay on top of my part of the housekeeping, which will mean a daily chore list.
I might start up Chore Wars again, or a similar tracking site.
- Oh, and stop eating like crap. Again.

Date: 2010-12-30 05:38 am (UTC)From:I don't like the Google task thing because it's really poorly integrated into the calendar and is not re-positionable in the gmail window so it bugs me when I'm composing an email.
I think not eating like crap will help your food budget innately, but I wish you luck with it.
