Clean the holy crap out of the living room, hallway, dining room, and kitchen. Remove the 5,000 dust-kitties from every corner. (They're like dust bunnies, but made of cat fur mostly. Maybe should call them "tumblecats.")
Long-range goal: Get all the dishes clean. ALL the dishes. Sneak out and purchase the stoneware I really want, and put it in the china cabinet for special occasions. I am totally lacking in service for 5 including soup bowls.
My parents are coming on Friday, so having clean service for 5 would be a surpassingly good idea.
I want to acquire some LED lights, either the strung kind or the mounted kind, and put them on the backsides of the ceiling beams in the dining room, which is too dark for my tastes. Maybe I need to paint behind the bookshelves again or something. I reckon I need about 5,000 lumens (300 watts in traditional lightbulbs, about 60 in LEDs) to get it up where I'd prefer it. Yeah, I like it bright; my kitchen has two cloud lights and three pendants over the island and LEDs under the counters too.
I want to test out a single-serving meatloaf recipe for Friday. I have a steamer and make an awesome complete meal in it, but it's not big enough to serve 5, so I'm going to do the veggies in that, and some kind of meat dish, and salad. Or maybe I should buy a second steamer?
...no, I don't need encouragement to purchase additional appliances. That's why I have a kitchen the size I do with HUGE undercounter storage spaces. If I had a cooking show it'd be called All My Appliances. (not really but the actual name is NSFW so I'll save it)
