Some questions from [livejournal.com profile] sebastian_tombs:

1) What are *your* pros and cons for working overnights?

The only bad thing about working overnights is that if anyone you know is on a day schedule, you'll never see them. When the kid was in conventional school, she was at school when I got home, and was awake for maybe an hour after I got up; I got to see her on my days off in the mornings and on Sunday evenings, and that sucked. Now that she's homeschooled and her dad has her on a sleeping schedule like his, we get to spend time together because she can stay up late. One of the best things, on the other hand, is that when you work nights in a big city, it's like living in a small town. You see the same people, the streets are empty, there are only a few stores available. But all you have to do to "go to the city" is stay up a few hours or get up early. No long drives!

2) If you were stranded on a desert island with only five books, which ones would you pick?
I've never been stranded on a desert island, but I imagine that if I were, I'd certainly want some books that described things pertinent to my life and how to do them better. While I usually enjoy reading fiction for emotional comfort, if one is in a marginal situation, it's best to stop drowning oneself in the adventures of Sam and Frodo and get on with fixing one's life.

3) When did you know/decide [the word here depends on the answer, really] that you were poly?

From about the time that I was old enough to imagine life as an adult realistically-- say, ten or eleven. I always, always knew that one boyfriend wasn't going to cut it.

4) Why Oklahoma? You're an adult now, so it is a choice, and I assume you like it there.

It's my home, of course I like living here. My family's here, and with working nights I'm not usually as subject to the miserable summer weather (you will see me complain when it gets hot enough that it's over 100 when I'm driving to work, though). If there were people like this anywhere else with decent weather, I'd gladly move.

5) My treat, where do you want to go on vacation?

[livejournal.com profile] dda's house. I haven't seen him since last September and it'll be this September before I see him again. And I miss him.

and now for the rules of this meme:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Hey, give me a chance to go on and on and on about things, as well."
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions or simply leave a comment.
4. Include this explanation and, if you want, an offer to interview someone else in the post.
