For those of you who did the "LJ mojo" meme about three weeks ago, I need to pass along a warning. That was the meme that asked you to put in your name, pulled your f-list, and asked you to check off names, then gave you a funny six-axis graphic.

The pic of the meme results has been changed to a very graphic NSFW pic. (It's the goatse* pic, in case you're wondering.)

If you posted this meme in your LJ and didn't put it behind a cut, anyone browsing through the previous entries of your journal is going to get a nasty surprise.

As a more minor "see what I can do," the author has made the results public, so you can put in someone's LJ-name and see which boxes they checked on the most recent time they did the meme. *twirls finger* Whoopty-do. Could be worse; could be one of those memes that manipulates private, personal information. You know, the kind you've all filled out on those quiz sites. Or OKCupid. Did you know that on OKCupid, any test author can ask to be notified if someone gives a specific set of answers on a test they wrote?

I'm shuddering at the thought of the amount of work (and it's less for me than for some of the meme-sheep out there), but I think it might be a good plan to go through my LJ and make sure that every single meme result is either graphicless, or behind a cut.

*HERE, in case you were unaware of the "fix hotlinking by putting up goatse" meme, is a TEXT-ONLY blog entry that talks about replacing an overly-hotlinked image with goatse. (It's a different case than the one I'm talking about above). It's funny, thoughtful, and well worth reading.
