When I ask you to spell your name, please do not assume I wish you to simply REPEAT your name for me.
It will not magically make clear what you were saying, and cause me to say "Oh, THAT name, now that you've repeated it I know exactly how you spell it."
In fact, I know TWO ways to spell your name, and I wish you to tell me which of them you use before I decide for you. The stuff you want to pick up requires you to show an ID with a matching spelling, so it's really in your own best interests not to be a stubborn fool about it.
But it's really up to you, Elizabeth! (or was it Elisabeth?)
