In the shocking, but probably mistitled, Dope thread How is one supposed to respond to boob jobs?, TV Time tells a sad tale, of how a co-worker's 17 year old daughter did enter the office one day, with her boobies, yea, she AND her cleavage did enter the office, and he was stunned with the magnificent array which had not heretofore existed, and thus he did ask what the proper response was to such a wondrous sight.
Responses ranged from those which required great acting ability "ignore them" to the gentlemanly "You look nice, did you get a new haircut?" to the joking (one hopes) barbarous extreme of leering, commenting directly and lewdly, grasping, groping, or even mouthing them.
OK, guys. You know I love you all regardless, right? I won't kick anyone's ass for how they answer me, or how they go over and register and post on the Straight Dope boards. But I really want to know.
What *I* think is that it's absolutely unacceptable to joke(1) publicly(2) that a 17 year old child(3) should be sexually assaulted, groped, or verbally harassed by an adult, SIMPLY because of the size of her breasts(4). The original post in the thread says only that the child came into the office and that her breasts were obviously bigger, not that she dressed or behaved inappropriately in any way. The successive post indicates only that her breasts were significantly bigger.

1.Yes, the replies were presented with humor, but the original post was asking for advice, so it could be taken as unclear who is and isn't serious.
2. I think joking might be appropriate with a different audience, say a more private one.
3. Too young to smoke or vote. Child.
4. The original post was based on the idea that she had done something to deserve her large breasts (i.e. had them augmented) and thus some verbal comment might be polite.
