Highs near 70 predicted tomorrow.

I guess there are worse things than living in Oklahoma and never having to shovel snow.

I got the kiddo a couple of things that I will be "helping" her play with: Klutz Lettering book and Klutz Paper Doll Fashions book.

Christmas is sort of melancholy for me, as it's the time of year that I feel surrounded by the loved ones I can't be with, and those I've lost. One of the phrases I've heard (which I think, by the way, is an Orthodox way of phrasing this) for those who've passed on is "fell asleep in the Lord."

As someone who works the night shift, I'm well used to people being asleep long before me, so as I head off to work this Christmas Eve, I'll be thinking of that day far, far in the future, many years from now, when I fall asleep, and wake up to spend Christmas once again with everyone I love.

And in the meantime, I have many more Christmases to spend with those I can!

I'll be home for Christmas,
You can count on me.
Please have snow, and mistletoe,
And presents under the tree.

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams.
I'll be home for Christmas...

If only in my dreams.
