corrvin: a Courier daisy wheel text "definitely my type" (my type)
Since I woke up after my second brief nap at 9am, I decided to go ahead and go out to do some things I've been needing to do since before Christmas.

So, I went to the mall, to Lane Bryant, and got some new bras. (3 were on sale for $15. I cannot resist the $15 stripey bra!) I am, apparently, bigger around the ribcage than I thought, but that's ok because it means more things to look at.

I hit Chick-Fil-A and got the 8-pack of nuggets, fries, and a drink, and it was nearly too much food. Eeek! (But yummy.)

Then I went to Ross and got a new shirt, and two really cute tins with notecards (okay, I really just wanted the tins) and a swimsuit-with-a-skirt so I can go swimming at [livejournal.com profile] totallywired's next time if I feel up to it, whee!

I'd wanted a skirted suit for a while; not because I am fat (I am) and ashamed of it (I'm not) or because I think my bottom is ugly (I think I have a perfectly suitable one), but mostly because I'm modest enough to want something that's not just glorified underwear. I don't want to swim in a burkini, but I do want to not have to worry about keeping my suit on while frolicking!

Side note: These folks make some cute burkinis, but I kind of have to wonder how exactly "great big motif across the boobs" fits with the idea of modesty? I think these shirts seem more sensibly designed, with a design at the bottom hem instead. (I found that through the comic, Ninjabi, which someone linked on the head-covering forum in Ravelry.)
