Some of the questions I ask myself when making a decision:
-What is the honest thing to do in this situation?
-Have I given my word to do anything?
-What is the fair thing to do?
-Are any of my options kind or helpful to others?
-What is the right thing to do?
And if some one choice is fair, and helpful, and kind, and compassionate, and something I gave my word to do, and none of the other choices are, why in God's holy name should I be concerned about whether it is legal if it's the only right thing to do?
(It is, by the way, perfectly legal for my employer to ask me to work on my day off.)
